I found a gem of town in Bayfield, Wisconsin. I achieved my goal of Sailing on One of the Great Lakes and next time want to explore the Sea Caves by kayak and camp on Madeline Island.
The people really made this part of the trip special from fun at Good Thyme Restaurant and their Boat Bar to Sam and Mary’s amazing hospitality and the fun I had the website for the Apostle Islands Area Campground and his great surprise gift of getting me tickets to the sold out Yonder Mountain String Band (below), I only wish I have the good fortune to meet more people like them.
I won’t forget the amazing, howl worthy full moon rise at the my campsite right on Lake Superior at the Memorial Park Campground and Linda the great host
Live music at the Backwater Patio
I can still taste the fresh berries from North Wind Farms and the After Eight Mint Ice Cream:
Lunch at The Rittenhouse Inn which had some of the most spectacular bed and breakfast suites I’ve seen and I’ll have to stay at one day:
Daily Special Laketrout, wild rice and asparagus at the Rittenhouse Inn for lunch
Spinach Salad
And of course how could I forget the mouse that hitched a ride and crawled around my travel trailer in the middle of the night, but thankfully (finally) took the bait and now runs free in the forest:
